YES DAMMIT. It's not like it's easy to accidentally press that tiny [x] button. You asked me already if I wanted to save my work so what could I possibly lose if I didn't actually mean to quit. Software that assumes that it's smarter than me really shits me. Get a real job, hippie code.

Whats worse is that you halt the shutdown (that I started by pressing the APM button on the front of the pc). But you don't set focus, so alls I know is my computer isn't shut down coz a modal window behind all the other modal windows is waiting for input. Which one? I guess I have to close them all one by one. bah.

PS: Don't get me started on users who use the "Deleted Items" folder in Outlook for storage of important stuff....

Hmmm good weather this week. Pity I have to work.
Summer is pretty much over and while I accomplished a lot there is still more I would have liked to do.

OMG Queer eye FTSG is soo funnay. And not because I'm a fag either, their writers (if they have any) are brilliant. It's funny how most shows now have a token poof. 2003 was the year of "look at me I'm GAY!!".

OT I just love shiny shoes. It pisses me off when I see people (especially in cust. service roles) with their shirts hanging out and their shoes murky and scuffed. Takes about 3 minutes to fix. Something that I've done every weeknight since I was 6 was to polish my (school|work) shoes. It's a habit now




Yeah 1^-2 is a number I use a lot. Like when trying to explain to my boss why ohm's law doesn't work above about 100Hz. Or the inverse square rule. RMS etc. I love knowing how things work. I just wish I new how I worked so that I could get some motivation to do stuff. Meh

So I planted some trees yesterday. Coz my garden was rather horizontal if you know what I mean. I LOVE hello hello. I've been here about 8 months now and the front garden hadn't been touched so I put some self-looking-after stuff out there too. And a tree that will hopefully (with lots of pruning) grow bushy and short and block out some road noise. Sif I'll still be living here when it gets that big though.

Most Hatiest thing: People who are still only doing 60 down the onramp to the freeway. If you cannot get up to at least 90 before you have to merge, don't use the freeway. HTH. You people cause too many near-misses

So I mowed last night coz the grass was about 6 inches high from all the rain. Got blisters from going round the edges with teh hand shears. Viva la barrel mower. I think I need a new one coz the ratchet in the wheels keeps skipping.

Someone did the front grass this week. I guess the letter I sent to the estate agents was a bit of a wake up.

Nothing else has happened. I can't do anything coz I need to save my money. meh.

I went to visit my grandfather today coz he is being moved to St John of God in Ballarat tomorrow, which is good coz Ballarat is only 45 mins from Maryborough. Plus there he will get the same specialist as Dad had when he had the stient put in. They've got him on wharferen (sp?) which is bad at the moment coz it's an über blood thinner (like aspirin but heaps more powerful) to stop clots. It's the same drug they put in rat-bait to kill rats. Meh, they know what they're doing. A cousin of mine was there too, she is a nurse I think but a fair bit older than me. She didn't recognise me; she though I was a doctor (hehe YAY). I recognised her though. Her husband and baby was there too. He drives from Bendigo (major hole) to melbourne every day for work, that would suck. You'd need a good stereo for that in your car. We hadn't seen each other for about 10 years (I think) coz there is some angst between the two sisters (ie my mum and that aunty). I'm not sure what the whole deal is there but family isn't very family-ish in my family. At least, not outside the immediate family, if you know what I mean. That suits me coz I'm a very private person and rather selfish too.

Anyway I went and visited him and it struck me how small he actually is. I mean, he's probably 5 foot 7 or so but he looks OLD. Growing up, he scared the hell out of me coz he was a very strong (physical and mentally) man. I didn't actually talk to him properley; like a conversation till I moved away (and came back to visit). At that point he was going deaf so it got kinda hard.

Saturday me and Ty went to see 'Timeline'; for me out of curiosity. The book by Michael Crichton was ace and I was curios to see if they'd butcher it completley. They actually did a pretty good job, although it dragged a bit in places. Then we sat and had a talk about lots of stuff but nothing in particular.

I'm sitting in bed right now writing this. I want to go to sleep coz it's been a long day but the annoying neighbors are having a bbq again and they are LOUD. Even with the windows shut. BAH. I wish it was a thunderstorm like the BOM predicted so they'd go inside or get struck by lightning or something. My problem is that rather than ignoring it, I lay there and get really angry which pretty much means no sleep at all.

At least my arm doesn't hurt anymore so I can resume the small amount of weights that I do. I still can't get the spots of blood out of the shirt tho. Hopefully they will fade with time and washings.

So my grandpa is sitting up in bed now which is teh good. I will go visit him next week, I promise.

Also I have a bbq at a mates h0use next tuesday which is ace coz I haven't seen these guys in like 6 months except Glenn who I don't really like much anyway - he is just a useful person to know.

My arm still hurts from teh needle. waaa.

YAY it's sunny and hot again. Which is good coz my plants don't grow when it's dark and cloudy. I wish I could grow 4 inches a day in good light. 6'3 would be a SUPER good height instead of the slightly below average 5'9 that I am. In fact, most of me is slightly below average, including my social life. YAY.

Teh air handling unit in the board room failed today and there is a board meeting on. LOLF. It is 28 in there now hehehe. I'm not sure why it's my problem as air conditioning is hardly an information system. Anyways, the motor is fucked so the contractor guy will come and fix it tomorrow probably. When it won't be used for a month again. lalala.

Work finally paid out my uniform allowance although I think they didn't quite pay enough i'm so sick of the whole thing that i'll just be happy with what I've got. I'm getting my weekly allowance too. Altho I think they didn't backpay it properley. meh. An extra $5 a week should be a help. I don't get my next wagerise until 6th Jan next year. waaa. I hope I get a co-tenant soon so I can eliminate my debts. If I get a co-tenant I will have an extra $100 a week to put towards my debts. Which should have me debt free in a little under a year (except the car loan). Then I could pay the car loan off sooner (almost double my repayments) which would see me totally debt free at the end of 2005. Then, with 1 year remaining on my contract here at work I could start looking for a better paying job.

Then again, those estimates may take a little longer coz I wanna do my CNA and MCSE which will cost me 2 grand and about 5 grand respectivley. Altho thats a tax deduction so it should be a little less, also take off whatever work pays (if any - they keep saying they will pay for some of it but when I ask them to they uhm and arr about it). CNA will take 40 weeks (1 night a week) and I have NFI what MSCE takes. I guess i'll just download the material and pay $250 for each of the 8 or so exams. I think I know all the stuff anyway. Except for the stuff with multiple child domains coz i've never had experience with that. I might create a few new domains here at work with some of the test machines.

I've been a bit indifferent to Ty lateley, I hope i'm not hurting his feelings. Too much. :(

YAY I'm dependable and decisive. Take that hippies.

Ok so now I have the bleeding and the redness (gueyven!) on my shirt coz we had hep and tetanus needles today. Actually, that was the most accurate doctor I have ever had coz I didn't even feel the needle. What a pro. Sure beats the dirty great lumps of metal they stick into you at the blood bank. Problem is, blood is a bugger to get out of white cotton shirts. meh.

Hmmm, they made the Crichton book Timeline into a moofie, but it seems liek they changed a heap of shit (as usual). I'll prolly go with Ty to watch it at ep-PING on the week end. Just for something to do.

Today, I ams teh gonna clean out the computer room, coz those pictures of the huge spotless data centers give me a boner. Chow.

First day of the month is always busy. Have to run weather data reports (i'm a human radio link), phone reports, email reports, spam reports, user storage reports, virus reports, report reports.

Plus the fax server is still acting up. They gave us a fix which worked, but broke another part of the software. Meh.

Rang TXU to see why I haven't had a gas bill in 6 months and they said that I was in there alright but there had been no meter reading results recieved. So they're passing it to the field department to check. Which means that I will prolly get a $250 bill in the mail this week. Which sucks. If they have no meter readings, they prolly didn't do a reading when I moved in (like i rang them up to do so that I wouldn't get charged for the previous occupants). I shoulda wrote down what I read then. Hopefully they will decided to start it from now which would rock (free gas *burrrrp*)

Teh Days of our Dhruv should resurface soon as he gets cable tomorrow. Yay.
