So why am I at home on a saturday night? Coz i'm a loser, thats why.

RE: G Greer's comments about australia being sportsmad and culture free. She has a point. I don't care a whit about culture and stuff (note contemporary art =/= culture)(note modern art sucks) but for 28% of the week all 5 mainstream free-to-air tv channels have nothing but sport. I guess you get what you pay for.

Now I like running around the park with a footy as much as the next guy. But I have very little competitive nature. I don't care if I win or lose (which I suppose is why effort is lacking).

OTOH some huge percentage of people in australia are obese which is a good thing IMO. The specific gravity of the country will rise causing an atmospheric 'sink' if you will where heavy rain-bearing clouds will be snatched as they pass by.

I didn't go and visit my grandpa today coz he's still not really aware of his surroundings. Plus they only let two visitors into the ICU at a time and mum and nan will both be there. he was always such a strong man that seing him incapacitated as he is will be something of a system shock. When he's awake fully I will visit as he will appreciate anything to avoid the boredom. Pity talking to him is so hard (deaf as a post).

Tafe starts soon, but I can't quite afford the $500 for CCNA part one. The boss keeps saying that work will contribute, but then refuses to commit. So I guess i'll have to wait till next semester.

(If their support fixes the current problem then I will edit and remove this bit). $800 doesn't buy you much these days it seems.

I haven't really achieved a lot this week. Watched the entire 3rd season of Babylon 5 is about it.

I need to buy some folimat for my hedge to get rid of the evil bumpies.

Crap weather this weekend, thanks BOM. It summer, can't you put on some decent weather at the weekend.

Heh. That hydrocarbon in a bottle really does work. (Fuel Injector Cleaner). Either that or it's placebo effect is superb, either way i'm stoked that my car doesn't idle like a 3 cyl IH diesel anymore.

Went to dinner last night, had a prawn thing + salad. And a coffee which meant I didn't get to sleep untill early (the next morning). Oh well. Was out the door in 20 mins today (minus breakfast).

OMG work is buying fruitz0r again. Yay. They always put on a good spread. The tables in the kitchen are loaded with grapes, bananas and other junk liek apples and stuff. This place really looks after us. They provide breakfast and orange juice (and all the normal stuff like coffee tea milk etc) makes you feel happy to come to work. MmMmMm.

Turns out next door has 2 dogs. ARGH They go sik every time I go outside. Which makes me happy when I go out early to jog and to go to work coz I'm hoping someone will complain.

So, if all goes well, and I get a co-tenant, my budget sez I can afford to start collecting vendor certifications mid 2004. Work will pay a bit but not all of it, they'll prolly give me some time to do stuff too which helps. Prolly do MCSE (MCSE > MCSA) and CCNP next. Actually, screw CCNP I'll prolly do RedHat Enterprise. I need more nix skills.

LOLF there was a note attached to the front door with "To Owner $25 for trimming and mowing, front" a mobile number and a name on it. HAHA. The front grass (what little there is) and the nature strip and the shit between them are the responsibility of the body corporate (as detailed in the lease). So I'll just post it off to the real estate agent. YAY. Me thinks the council got someone to mow it coz it was looking ratty. Take that hippies.

I found two tomatos on my vine which is ACE coz it means that I will have heaps soon. Plus the neigbors vine has 4 or 5 that have grown through to my side of the fence so they're mine to kekeke. I offloaded a heap of spring onions to my parents last night (I don't even like onions so I don't know why I planted them). I forgot to put pumkins in this year, oh well etc.

My salix caprea is shooting from the bottom, but not from the graft. I hope it's gonna make a move soon. The graft still has all it's leaves green so it seems to be living. But it's running out of sunlight time. For the un-initiated, salix means willow and caprea is a dwarf type that only grows about 5 foot in diameter. The graft stalk is about 7 foot and won't get any taller. It's just a 'feature' tree thingy. With possibly some useful shade when it bulks out a bit.

I'm wearing my 'Mutley' socks that were care of the late, great Ed B Bear RIP.

So I planted 3 more Acmena Smithii (Lilly Pilly) hedge thingies. Did a few loads of washing. Used teh washing water to water the grass. Uhm.

Going out to dinner tonight with my parental units. They came down today to put my grandfather in hospital and are swinging by on the way back. Which means I will hopefully remember to giev mumz0r her bifdee pressy.

Well it gets worse. Now my sodding neighbors have a dog. Not an actual dog. One of those "yip yip yip yip yip bloody yip yip yip" rats that should have been left off the ark (not that I believe in that sort of thing). Despite the fact that the fences are so wonky they couldn't keep a tortoise in.

FUCK. The bees have been slack, my tomato vine is bereft of fruit. The fucker is as big as a car but not one berry is a growin. Smells like tomatos but no tomatos are there. I blame the labour government, the liberals always ensured a plentiful supply of bees to sex0r my vegies.

Grandpa is going into get the thingy done on Tuesday. Something about they use the veins in his arm for something, I dunno. But I drove them around yesterday and then we went back to my flat for lunch. He was like telling me 'ahh I remember when BHP built that building in 1937'. Heh.

Was running late this morning so no breakfast. And I didn't shave very well either :(

fuckers. The obnoxious bastards next door had a party and although the music went off at 12, they kept talking outside till 2am. Of course, their fenceline is right next to my bedroom window. Lucky I was able to fill in most of the night watching QAF on SBS. Then I went to bed and smouldered for a few hours. I woulda asked them to go inside but the noise would prolly be the same (shared wall) and at any rate, I'm crap at arguing real time (damn you IRC).

So my car is making a weird vibration now too. Wotapieceofshit. I have to ring up teh gas co to see why I ain't got a bill for 6 monfs (so they don't cut me off) and ring up RACV to see why they didn't debit my loan repayment (I think the account was 12 cents less than the $160 they take out).

What the fuck is so special about that hookes guy? People get beaten up by bouncers all the time and while they don't usually die, THEY don't rate a ticker thing across the bottom of 'that 70s show'. This country and it's sports really shits me. If we're so into sports why are we a nation of obese dudes? Not to mention Sunday tv. BLEH

At least the backups are finally working right at work. It's hard to test a job that takes fucking 8.5 hours to run.

OKs The mum unit is coming down tomorrow and visiting me at work so I can driev her and grandpa and grandma to the hospital coz she has NFI where to go and can't read maps with her driving glasses anyway so teh boss is being nice and letting me have time off work which I woulda expected seing as I always start early and finish late even if it's only 15mins early/late and I come in on teh weekend too but we don't track time-in-lieu strictly although the new payroll system probably will so I can see how much extra I actually work.

So what the fuck is with the need to go out fri and sat nights? Not to mention weeknights. OK so i'm lazy but still. People can't fill in their time without getting drunk? I'm amazed people have time to fill/waste.

Actually, I realised that I haven't spent any significant time with my mates for over 6 months. Need to put effort into that. Hmmm.

So like I was thinking about going back to work for Woolies on teh weekends to get a little extra dosh. Then theres the tax problem, I'd work 8 hours and get paid about $60. Which is so not worth it. I could stop paying hecs this year and receive the $25 a week but i figure I might as well keep paying it. I need to reduce my taxable income but that involves a few risks which I don't have the liquid assets to try at the moment. Meh.

So Ty got into uni at bundoora and is dropping hints like "Oh it's a 90 min train trip" etc. I can't really say that I'd be overjoyed if he asked to move in. He is a nice guy with a heart of gold but I'd like to spend time with someone more mature. I'm just to scared to hurt him by telling him this. Who would have thought the heartless bastard that is me would ever think liek that? He mentioned that if he didn't get a uni place he would move with his family to Sydney and start a business. Which would have been a way out (cop out) for me. I felt guilty as hell wishing that he didn't get a place. My mind is ams so fucked up. bleh.

well YAY. The new noisy neighbors put up some lattice to replace the beatutiful screen bush they chopped out. I liek my privacy. Still, it will be better when my lilly pillys grow up a bit (probably by next summer). Speaking of which, my garden looks FUCKING FANTASTIC at the moment even if it is a little eclectic. Most of the smaller plants are annuals so I can do something more coherent next spring. The washing machine water is keeping the grass going even with the lack of rain. I just wish it was a little flatter instead of a slope. It's too hard to bring the amount of soil to build up the low end.

Got landlord inspection on Tuesday so I've been kleening more than usual. I'm pretty clean anyway but a little extra can't hurt. Polish floors etc. I wish i could wipe the ceiling but it will go all streaky.

Work has been 'meh'. The über manager (boss' boss) has been on leave so we really haven't done much other than maintenance (as he has authority on all the projects). I wish ppl would stop ringing me trying to sell me toner.

Mumz0rs birthday on Monday. Must remember to ring her. 54 is practically at deaths door.

Speaking of death, my grandfather is going to have an operation coz he has 3 blockages in his arteries/heart thingy. He's liek 86 and still working hard and complains that he can't do all he wants to. If he gets relegated to a bed he will just die coz he wouldn't know what to do with himself. Then my evil uncle will rip him off for all he's worth.
