RE: G Greer's comments about australia being sportsmad and culture free. She has a point. I don't care a whit about culture and stuff (note contemporary art =/= culture)(note modern art sucks) but for 28% of the week all 5 mainstream free-to-air tv channels have nothing but sport. I guess you get what you pay for.

Now I like running around the park with a footy as much as the next guy. But I have very little competitive nature. I don't care if I win or lose (which I suppose is why effort is lacking).

OTOH some huge percentage of people in australia are obese which is a good thing IMO. The specific gravity of the country will rise causing an atmospheric 'sink' if you will where heavy rain-bearing clouds will be snatched as they pass by.

I didn't go and visit my grandpa today coz he's still not really aware of his surroundings. Plus they only let two visitors into the ICU at a time and mum and nan will both be there. he was always such a strong man that seing him incapacitated as he is will be something of a system shock. When he's awake fully I will visit as he will appreciate anything to avoid the boredom. Pity talking to him is so hard (deaf as a post).

Tafe starts soon, but I can't quite afford the $500 for CCNA part one. The boss keeps saying that work will contribute, but then refuses to commit. So I guess i'll have to wait till next semester.
